screen greets the administrator each time they log in. It is
intended to act as a dashboard of sorts, presenting the admin
with a snapshot of the critical system elements all on one page.
Without spending too much time delving in to the various
modules, the admin should have a fair idea of the activity on
their site straight away. For example, they can see their own
details, how many users are set up on the system, whether or not
there are outstanding messages to be viewed, what their content
configuration is comprised of, a brief summary of their style
settings & some statistical information amongst other
things.
The admin cannot alter
configuration settings from this page, but they can gauge the
state of play within the site and get a feeling for activity on
the site before they go any further.
