| Access
this screen by clicking on the base text in the site explorer (here) This
page allows the admin to edit an existing base
page. The ticker text will continously scroll accross the screen
from right to left in the public section. Enter and format the text you
want to appear on screen in the editor in the middle of the
screen.
There are three buttons at the
top of the screen, Public View, Delete and Add New. Clicking on
'Public View' will show the base page in the public section of
the site as it currently stands.
The 'Delete' button obviously
deletes the base. Be very careful of this button however as all
child nodes hanging off the base will be lost with this delete.
So for example if you vere to delete the 'Education' base node
from this
configuration, would also delete the 'Primary School' &
'Secondary Schools' content lists along with the 'Further
Education' base and its child node 'Courses'. As you can
appreciate, clicking the delete button here by accident could
have disastrous consequences so use it carefully.
The final button is 'Add New'.
When you click on this you will get the 'Add
New .....' screen so you can select a type page you wish to
create as a child of your base. You can select to add a new Base,
Content List, Messageboard,
Guestbook
or Poll. The newly created page will then hang
off the base as a child node.
