Welcome to our brand new home on the internet. This website is intended to act as a portal to our community. A place where strangers can come along and learn of the many delights of our village and locals can keep up to date with the activities in Faketown.
Faketown is a beautiful village in the south east of Ireland inhabited by approximately 2,500 people. The surrounding countryside is as beautiful as it is fertile. In the Shadows of Sliabh Bán, the town is located just 10 miles from the Irish sea and the beautiful strand of Dunbeg. The town has a young, vibrant population driven by a very healthy local economy.
This site is intended to act as a newsletter, forum, directory and generally source of local information for the people of Faketown. The success of this site is very much dependent on the input of the people of the community so please contribute to the discussions in the messageboards and vote in the polls that we will be posting up. Your voice counts so lets hear it!
Finally we would like to thank our generous sponsors without which this website wouldn't exist. We should count ourselves lucky in Faketown to have such a proactive chamber of commerce.
Thank you for taking the time to read our welcome note, on behalf of the village improvement committee, we hope you enjoy the site and come back often
